Have you ever dreamed of interning in Prague? Well here is your chance to do it and earn college credit in the process! Together with our partner institutions, European Study Abroad Center (ESAC) and Seattle Central Community College, we are pleased to offer international internships in Prague. Internships provide students with a unique opportunity to gain work experience in an international setting. The internships are unpaid, and interns only need to know English. We work closely with you to find a placement that meets your needs and interests. Former interns have been placed in companies within the following fields: -Law Firms and Legal Work -General Management -Accounting -Marketing -Economics -Research and Publication -Banking and Finance -Human Resources -Hotel and Travel -Not-For-Profit Organizations College credit is awarded though Seattle Central Community College. The University:

This program is offered in conjunction with the European Study Abroad Center (ESAC) and Seattle Central Community College.

The Founders of the ESAC are deeply committed to providing students from all over the world a chance to study and intern in the Czech Republic. They have established challenging and rewarding internships in various companies in Prague.

Seattle Central Community College (SCCC) is a fully accredited American college. Your courses will be organized by the Office of Cooperative Education and Service-Learning. The mission of our office is to provide students with resources to obtain internship, volunteer, and service-learning experiences that will enhance their academic, professional, and personal growth as well as their leadership development and sense of civic responsibility.

The City:

Prague is the perfect place to study abroad! It has been often described as one of the jewels of Europe due to its beauty, charm, and rich history. Every visitor falls in love with the city. With over 1.3 million inhabitants it’s is the Czech Republic’s largest city and also its capital. The heart of the city is the Old Town, which once served as the medieval marketplace and now hosts a variety of shops and outdoor cafes. The city is overflowing with culture and history. When you’re enjoying a cappuccino on the Old Town Square you can see a unique blend of Gothic, Baroque, Renaissance and Art Nouveau architecture. From the Charles Bridge on the Vltava River, you can admire the Prague skyline with Hradcany Castle, whose 100 spires sparkle like stars at night. In addition to the breathtaking sights, Prague also offers a variety of cultural attractions such as concerts, museums, theatres, clubs, and restaurants. Since it is home to many of the Czech Republic’s best universities, there will be lots of students for you to meet and socialize with. Prague is a safe, affordable and friendly city, so you’re sure to have the time of your life!

Courses & Descriptions:

While completing the internship students are also simultaneously enrolled in Seattle Central Community College’s on-line travel/study courses. These are independent study courses that allow students to earn credit for work experience in an international setting. They are designed to help students reflect on their internship and to gain necessary skills for living in a globally interdependent and culturally diverse world. Transfer Credit:

You’ll receive an official transcript from Seattle Central Community College. This allows you to transfer credit back to your home university.

The credits listed are estimated credits for the courses. You should speak with the study abroad advisor at your home university to determine the number of transfer credits and obtain pre-approval for your courses.

After successfully completing the program, you’ll be able to request an official transcript from Seattle Central. The transcript has the course titles, course hours, and grades. Your university will need this transcript to transfer credit. You can earn between 12 and 18 semester credits.

Financial Aid:

It is possible to transfer your financial aid to pay for some or all of the program costs. The first step is to check with your home institution’s financial aid advisor before applying. Since every home institution has different rules, only your advisor can tell you what kind of aid can transfer. What's Included

Tuition & Internship Placement

The program includes full tuition and fees at Seattle Central Community College as well as internship placement and monitoring.

Official Transcript

After successfully completing the course assignments, you will be able to request an official transcript from Seattle Central Community College. This allows you to transfer credit back to your university (with prior approval from your advisor). The transcript contains the course title, grade, and credit hours for each course.


During the program you’ll share an apartment with other students. All apartment locations are chosen with careful consideration given to students’ needs. These include cleanliness, proximity to the school, public transportation access and convenience of the location with regards to stores.

On-site Program Director

Throughout the program, you’ll receive on-site support from the Program Director. The director will meet you at the airport, lead the orientation session, organize activities, and be available 24-hours a day.

Airport Transfers

In order to make your arrival go smoothly, your Program Director will meet you at Prague International Airport. He/she will take you in a taxi to your apartment and help you move in. At the end of the program, the Director will also take you to the airport before departure.

In-Country Orientation

You’ll take part in a 2-day orientation session at the beginning of the program. The Program Director will provide you with helpful advice and tips for living in Prague, review the schedule of activities for the program, distribute cell phones, and teach a survival Czech class.

Use of a Pre-Paid Cell Phone

During the orientation session you’ll be provided with a cell phone and a number of initial minutes. You’ll be responsible for recharging your phone with minutes. A cell phone is a great way to keep in touch with your friends and family back home. Also, text messaging is a popular and economical way to communicate with your friends in Prague.

Transportation Pass

To help you travel smoothly around Prague, we’ll provide you with a transportation pass that can be used on all buses, trams, and the subway.

Activities & Excursions

Activities and excursions will be planned throughout the program. These activities are designed to help you get to know Prague and the Czech culture better. Some sample activities include: a tour of Prague, museum trips, art galleries, bowling, films, concerts, and many more. There will also be weekend trips to Vienna, Austria and Dresden, Germany.

Health Insurance

You’ll be provided with a short-term accident and sickness medical plan that is designed especially for students studying abroad.

International Student Identity Card

All students are issued a complimentary International Student Identity Card (ISIC), which gives you great student discounts on airfare, rail passes, accommodation, sightseeing, food, shopping and more. Over 40,000 discounts are available around the world!

What You'll Need


Meals are not included, but you will have a kitchen available in your residence hall so that you can cook your own meals. Food is very affordable in Prague. Many students also like to eat out. There are small cafes and quaint restaurants close to the university for you to enjoy.

Spending Money

Prague is an affordable European city to live in. You will need to bring spending money for food, personal items, additional travel, and entertainment.

Round-trip Airfare to Prague

Student travel agencies provide great deals on airfare to Prague. The average round-trip ticket costs around $800.

Pre-paid Phone Cards for Your Cell

At the beginning of the program you will be provided with a Czech cell phone and an initial amount of minutes (ca. $30). During the program you will need to purchase your own phone cards to refill your minutes. Your Program Director will show you where to buy these.
